Affiliate Marketing – The Biggest Sins

Saturday, September 26th, 2009
Doug Hart asked:

Good day,

Today I’d like to discuss the deadliest sins – of an affiliate marketer. I’m sure you have heard the stories about the “super affiliate” marketers that are raking in $20K, $30K and more per month selling everything from diet products to ring-tones and even home improvement products. Don’t get me wrong these guys really do exist! The problem is, too many internet marketers don’t have success right out of the gate and quit before making a dime.

That doesn’t have to happen to you! I’m here to discuss the most prevalent mistakes, also known as the “deadliest sins” of the unsuccessful internet marketers. I’ve seen these happen many times, so here is my list:

1) Choosing the wrong product. One of the main problems is people choose a product that just isn’t right for them, either because they know nothing about it or it is has no large market to support the proper sales. Think about it, if only about one-hundred thousand people are the type that love to study butterflies (just an example!) then you have problems finding enough of them that want to buy your butterfly products. I know it’s been said many times that you have to find a product that you know something about and have a passion for, but the market still has to be there.

2) Promoting too many products at once. I know you are anxious to be one of “super affiliates” yourself, but you have to walk before you can run. Make sure you are comfortable with the basics and are actually making some consistent money selling your first product before jumping onto something else. There are too many band-wagons to jump on as it is, and new products seem to get hot on a regular basis. But that doesn’t mean the product you have is a loser, does it? Many times you can spend what seems like a lot of time and money promoting something, tweaking your keywords, testing different ads, changing your sales copy on the website, and nothing is working. Then one day you wake up and have several sales! Like magic, it all comes together. Be patient if you know you have a good product.

3) Not using free methods for promotion. Although many people are very successful at making money using PPC, most of the internet marketers I know of also use at least a few free methods as well. Besides, unless you have unlimited funds to play with until you “get it right”, you may run out of money before starting to see any return on your promotions. Use all of the free marketing you can – start and maintain several blogs, write as many articles as you can every day and post to ezine sites, setup a bunch of Squidoo lenses and use Twitter and Facebook to let people know every time you make an update. There’s a thousand more free ways to get traffic, use as many as you can! After all, your labor is worth something, it will pay off in the long run. The best part about the free traffic is that in most cases it lasts longer (much longer!) than the paid kind. And it builds page rank, too.

4) Don’t ever give up. This is just my way of saying you really can’t lose unless you quit. If someone else can make money online, you can too! But remember, they didn’t figure it out overnight either. Nobody does. It takes time to build an online marketing machine, to make lots of money online, but you can do it. Just keep your goals in mind, and no matter what happens keep a positive outlook. What’s that old saying? Winners never quit and quitters never win…

Hope you enjoyed these little tips of mine, the reason I do this is that I need to be reminded almost daily myself! Never stop learning, and never give up, and you will become one of the super affiliate marketers yourself, happily making money online every day.

The Hot And Cold Celebrities Of TV

Friday, September 25th, 2009
Jon Caldwell asked:

Celebrities, for the most part, stand the test of time. Once they become stars, they remain stars until the day they die and even beyond. But there is another type of celebrity. This kind is known as the “fleeting celebrity”. They are said to have their “15 minutes of fame”, which was a phrase coined by the late Andy Warhol. Our culture has seen a number of these 15 minute wonders. We’re going to take a look at just a few of them here.

Why don’t we start off with two for the price of one? Remember quite a few years ago when a 16 year old girl by the name of Amy Fisher had an affair with a guy by the name of Joey Buttafuco? Amy ended up shooting the guy’s wife in the head and ended up going to prison for 6 years. Today, nobody gives her or Joey a second thought.

Then of course there was Monica Lewinsky who had *** with President Bill Clinton. Of course Clinton’s celebrity status has not diminished since, but Lewinsky has so fallen off the radar map that today nobody even knows where this woman is or what she’s doing.

Then there was the big scandal in the late 80s involving Jim Bakker, who began the Praise The Lord Ministry in Fort Hill, South Carolina in 1974. A big *** scandal and some shady business dealings involving the PTL landed Bakker in prison for 45 years. Most people today don’t even give him a second thought.

In the world of music, a guy by the name of Carl Douglas gave us the totally ridiculous song “Kung Fu Fighting”. While Douglas may have been yesterday’s news after that song mercifully fell off the charts, the song itself has been in more Kung Fu movies than you can possibly imagine.

And then of course there was the novelty song of the 90s, “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred. These bald headed brothers probably grew hair after this total embarrassment of a song. Neither one of them has been heard from since and the song only gets played as a parody.

Thousands if the world’s sexiest women have tattoos? Tattoos have been showing up everywhere…on movie stars, super models, sports stars, rock stars, as well as thousands of the world’s sexiest women.

Here is a fascinating glimpse of 10 world famous celebrities and their fabulous collection of body art. Check out more knockout photos and descriptions at: http://www.temporarytattoofactory.com

NICOLE RICHIE is known for her tattooed ballerina shoes that were inspired by a song her dad, Lionel Richie, wrote for her. She also has seveal unique designs which include wings on her back, “Virgin” on her inner wrist and a gorgeous chain 7 cross on her ankle that look like jewelry.

VICTORIA BECKHAM, formerly “Posh Spice” of the Spice Girls,is most famous for her husband David’s initials on her inner wrist and the 5 stars on her lower back to signify family which includes her husband and 3 children. Also interesting is the Hebrew script on her upper back.

DREW BARRYMORE has been acquiring her collection of “free spirit” tattoos for over a decade. She is known for the adorable butterfly under her belly button, the moon & star on her foot and a unique angel adorning her gorgeous lower back.

I like your answer, and I’ll heed it, Melissa, but I spell the British way, so everything might seem topsy-turvy.

Reasons to Buy a Novelty Theme Bed for Your Child

Thursday, September 17th, 2009
Jason Lewis asked:

There are many reasons to consider a fun novelty bed for your child. Buying a fun theme bed lets the parents get creative with decorating ideas for the entire room, and there are so many types of themes to choose from. Having a novelty themed bed can also provide many hours of entertainment spent imagining all sorts of play for a boy or girl.

Girl themes include classics such as fairies and princesses, and just about anything pink. Other popular themes include pink castles, and of course, butterflies and hearts. One idea for a themed bed that could be the focus for the whole room is horses. The area around the “horse bed” could be decorated as a stable, and a green field with blue sky surrounding the walls of the room with a wooden horse fence painted in.

Popular boys themes range from different types of vehicles to super hero themes. Vehicles can include such designs as racing car beds, fire trucks and pirate ships. Also available for parents to use as a focus for decorating is a construction themed dump truck bed. This theme can be taken across the room with matching window treatments and even a painted design of a building construction site on the wall.

Older boys and girls may enjoy a rock star theme. The bed can even be made to look like a stage, and the room include a karaoke machine. The possibilities are quite endless when it comes to what direction a parent wants to take when decorating a child’s room.

Other types of popular transportation themes are boats, planes, and trains. Thanks to current children’s television programming, train themed bedrooms are a favorite design for young boys. This theme bed can be the foundation for creating a whole train track going around the ceiling of the room, which can be a wonderful source of inspiration for young minds. Small jet planes are also a fun theme that is currently a best seller. A fun wall treatment for this type of design is to stencil and paint a picture of the runway on the wall going in towards the bed as if the bed itself was coming in for a landing, including the ceiling being transformed into blue sky with a smattering of puffy white clouds.

Other reasons why it is a good idea to buy a fun theme novelty bed for a child includes the bed’s safety. Because the beds are made especially for children, their safety is enhanced over that of a regular twin sized bed. The edges are sanded, and the paint is safe to be used around children. Also, having a specially decorated room can enhance the way a child feels about their own space. They will be quicker to keep the area clean and tidy, as they will feel more pride about their special area. Having the creative themed bed will be able to provide a good start for children to have first person play skills develop, and have fun developing play skills with others when having friends over.

Super Cute Kids Clothes?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009
Mom of One in Wisconsin asked:

Where can I find super AFFORDABLE cute (not all the floral and butterflies that are EVERYWHERE) kids clothes with either a beach theme (Hawaiian, turtle, flamingos, palm trees), watermelon, zebra, capri sets with cute tank tops, etc. I don’t want to pay Gap or Gymboree prices. To me, that’s insane especially when they only wear them a handful of times before outgrowing them.
I shop eBay all the time and currently have a few bids going. I was wondering if there’s any other AFFORDABLE stores online that I could check out??

Review of the Lucinda Williams CD Essence

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009
Clyde Lee Dennis asked:

The exceptionally talented Rock artist Lucinda Williams has released her CD entitled Essence. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Lucinda Williams fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Essence Lucinda Williams’s artistic excellence is on full display as Williams has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.

Lucinda Williams has been a super star in the Rock genre for quite some time now and Essence is an excellent illustration as to why.

Essence has a pleasantly varied, mix of 11 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are her own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

Overall Essence is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Rock collection. Truly an outstanding Rock CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 – Steal Your Love, track 9 – Get Right With God, and track 11 – Broken Butterflies

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Lonely Girls. What a nice track!
